Fire Capital: the RIA team proving bigger isn’t always better for wealthy families
Fire Capital Management was recently named RIA Team of the Year (Under 10 Advisors), recognizing the firm’s growth and client service standards throughout 2025.
The six-person practice oversees $1.4 billion in assets under advisement (inclusive of $743 million RAUM) for 35 ultra-high-net-worth families and foundations spread across four countries and more than 10 US states. The firm operates as a Certified B Corporation and Pledge 1% member.
Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer Michael Firestone built the firm around their clientele, with a deliberately small team paired with institutional-grade processes. Every team member is involved in client relationships and investment decisions, and each also has a voice in business strategy. The firm credits this design for allowing the team to take on more complexity without losing its personal touch.
The firm’s employee value proposition centers on development. Team members receive financial incentives to pursue the CFA designation, along with funded attendance at industry conferences and programs such as National Trust School. Firmwide training extends to emerging technologies, including AI, supplemented by external mentorship from established industry professionals. Certain functions, such as marketing, are intentionally outsourced so staff can stay focused on client outcomes.
Client service follows what the firm calls a coordination-first model. Investment strategy, financial planning, tax, estate, and philanthropic considerations all run through one process, supported by proactive engagement to anticipate needs before clients raise an issue. For multi-family office clients, Fire Capital acts as a fiduciary quarterback, working alongside attorneys and accountants to align strategies without disrupting existing relationships. Multigenerational engagement, including family meetings and retreats, supports long-term governance and communication across generations.
Several team members were recognized individually in 2025. Michael Firestone appeared in a CBS News article on market commentary and co-presented the CFA Society San Francisco’s Market and Economic Outlook webinar. Alyssa Heath, the firm’s COO and Director of Social Impact, was elected Vice President of the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy board and earned her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation. Kelsey Syvrud, Director of Investment Strategy, presented at the FactSet Focus conference and developed a graduate wealth management program at Florida State University. Other rising stars at the firm, William Reynolds and Ryan Fujioka, have earned or are pursuing their CFA designations and are actively involved with community organizations. The firm was also named to Florida State University’s Seminole 100 list of the fastest-growing alumni-owned businesses in the country. More recently, Michael was named to Forbes' 2026 Best-in-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list and appeared in a Bloomberg article. The firm was also recognized as One of America's Top RIAs by Financial Advisor Magazine.
Since its founding, Fire Capital reports it has not lost a client outside of an estate administration and a former employee’s family relationship, a retention record the firm points to as evidence of the trust it has built with clients. Small but mighty, Fire Capital continues to punch above its weight – and be recognized for it.

Originally from the Bronx, Venus developed a strong work ethic early, entering professional environments through internships starting at age 14. Venus attended Lafayette College, where she originally pursued Computer Science, but redirected her path during the pandemic after developing a deep interest in financial markets due to the volatile climate. Following the completion of a data analytics bootcamp, she interned with a non-profit called the Petey Green Program. There, she helped them visualize key financial data and metrics for board member discussions, which furthered her interest in finance. She later graduated with a degree in Economics and a Certificate in Financial Policy and Analysis.Prior to joining FCM, Venus served on the Portfolio Compliance team at Cambridge Associates, where she was responsible for ensuring investment teams operate within the bounds of client contracts. This involved monitoring client Investment Policy Statements and reviewing trades on both a pre- and post-trade basis to identify and prevent potential breaches. Through this work, she developed a familiarity with portfolio construction and investment analysis across a diverse client base.Fun fact: She loves to play volleyball, go to dance classes, and take her cat for occasional walks to the park.Lafayette College – B.A. in Economics; Certificate in Financial Policy and Analysis
