The Lakes College Culinary Club (TLCCC) started with a team of 12 students and has now expanded to over 30 members, showcasing its continued success through participation in college events and even catering for local community organisations. This program not only imparts valuable culinary skills but also teaches the significance of community service, fosters practical abilities and cultivates a professional work ethic.
Spanning ages 11 to 18, the Culinary Club challenges students to create elaborate six-course degustation dinners and manage large-scale catering for college gatherings. Chloe, a Year 7 student, praises the program for imparting essential life skills in an enjoyable way among friends. Likewise, Emily values the connections she forms despite the program’s demanding pace.
Under the guidance of Chef Joel, TLCCC contributes to the college’s ethos and the students’ personal growth. The program’s commitment to local ingredients and culinary adventures is evident as it expands to include barista training and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification. The program seamlessly merges science, art and food technology, promoting discipline and shared responsibility. TLCCC embodies a commitment to service, community engagement and student leadership, cementing its unique character and contribution to The Lakes College.

Greg Raines is the Chief Executive Officer of TAG Advisors, one of the largest and fastest-growing Enterprise OSJs (Offices of Supervisory Jurisdiction) in the independent wealth management space. With over three decades of industry experience and a deep commitment to the entrepreneurial advisor model, Greg has built TAG Advisors from a zero-production startup in 1996 into a powerhouse organization generating over $140 million in annual revenue and managing more than $18 billion in assets under advisement.
Greg’s vision is rooted in creating a firm where independent advisors can maintain autonomy while accessing the deep support systems typically reserved for large institutions. That vision has driven the development of five integrated service verticals – TAG Invest, TAG Protect, TAG Retire, TAG Planning, and TAG Assist – with TAG Tax, TAG Tech, and TAG Marketing coming to market in 2025. These business lines offer comprehensive, scalable resources to enhance the well-established practices of the advisors they serve, giving them a la carte access to expert teams dedicated to their success.
TAG’s growth under Greg’s leadership has been extraordinary. In 2024 alone, the firm added 60 new advisors representing more than $21 million in gross dealer concession (GDC) and nearly $2 billion in recruited assets. Over 70 percent of that year’s record-breaking recruiting came from internal referrals – a testament to the strength of the firm’s advisor relationships. At the same time, TAG maintains an advisor retention rate of over 95 percent, demonstrating Greg’s dedication to long-term partnership and exceptional service.
Greg emphasizes strategic engagement and cultural cohesion across the organization. TAG holds weekly firmwide elective meetings to provide advisors with timely updates, celebrate professional and personal milestones, and reinforce a strong sense of community. Internally, his leadership team meets daily to align advisor-specific priorities and execute firm-wide strategic objectives.
As TAG’s reach has expanded, so has its influence. The firm’s annual Thrive conference now hosts more than 300 participants, reinforcing TAG’s reputation as both a leader in professional development and a collaborative force within the industry. Greg has also led targeted initiatives to address demographic challenges in financial services, including enhanced continuity planning, practice-acquisition support, and educational programs aimed at fostering advisor succession and generational transitions.
Inspired in part by Greg’s daughter’s entrance into the profession, TAG has focused initiatives to elevate female advisors, achieving above-average female representation across all organizational levels. TAG maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward the outdated attitudes that have historically challenged women in financial services.
Greg’s efforts have earned broad recognition, including a 2022 Wealth Solutions Report (WSR) award for outstanding enterprise performance and a 2025 nomination for CEO of the Year from InvestmentNews.
Greg Raines exemplifies the ability to scale with purpose – balancing rapid growth with meaningful relationships, innovative infrastructure with hands-on support, and industry leadership with personal accountability. As CEO, he continues to lead TAG Advisors with clarity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to creating a firm where independent entrepreneurial advisors thrive.
